Josef Albers: Opening Eyes

Josef Albers: Opening Eyes features works from the Art Museum of the University of Memphis’s collection, including three paintings from the artist’s Homage to the Square series. Most of AMUM’s works by Josef Albers are gifts of professor of architecture William Huff, who knew Albers at Yale and collected directly from the artist. Albers’s work as an artist and a teacher explored the “eye-opening” space between what one sees and what one knows.
