Released in 1972, Formulation: Articulation comprises 127 screenprints across sixty-six sheets, reflecting more than four decades of Albers’s sustained investigation into the relationship between color and optical perception. The portfolio contains an extensive range of color studies, including a total of seventeen double-sheet works from Albers’s Homage to the Square series.
