World of Pattern

World of Pattern considers the relationship of pattern and design to the development of abstraction in nineteenth, twentieth, and twenty-first century art. The exhibition presents both classical and contemporary patterns to highlight their aesthetic significance in the emergence of abstract art. It also explores the influence of watercolor techniques on design and the decorative arts in Europe.
